Watering Triggers and Settings

a. Watering Trigger SettingsBased on the humidity measured by the sensor, you can set a watering trigger value. It’s recommended that during the first watering, you wait until you see water flowing out of the bottom of the planting bag, then record the humidity at that point. Generally, the watering trigger value should be set between 60%-80% of that humidity level. You can also adjust this value based on your experience to find the ideal humidity level to trigger watering.

b. Recommended Accessories: better automation, you can pair the GGS soil sensor with the GGS Power Strip and hydroponic drip irrigation system. By setting up a drip irrigation schedule, the system will automatically activate watering based on the set humidity threshold. When the humidity reaches the set value, the system will decide whether watering is needed, ensuring your plants get the right amount of water.

Pro Version vs. Non-Pro Version

a. Non-Pro Version

Supports connection to only one sensor and does not allow soil type selection, making it ideal for small-scale use.

b. Pro Version

Supports up to 6 sensors and will enable you to choose different soil types. Once a soil type is selected, the system uses models for different substrates to further optimize humidity readings. This version is perfect for users who need to monitor larger areas and require more precise data.

How to Use?

Insert the probe horizontally into the soil to obtain accurate readings. It is recommended to insert the probe into the planting bag at about 1/3 of its height above the ground, closer to the root zone.
